In his first output, the experienced ambient instrumentalist and villager, Rune Søltoft introduces the listener to a new side of his sound that, in craft, reflects a natural flair for percussive subtleties. His technically artisan choices in this regard reinstates, without a shadow of doubt, an individual who've had percussion as a core part of his life from the very start.

On the A-side with the title track "In Acrylic", Rune Søltoft introduces a tranquilizing stream of harmonic objects, in an almost pristine sounding scape, that incrementally breaks apart and regenerates anew, in unexpected ways as the track progresses - Percussively, the listener is time and time again caught by surprise. New layers are placed in glitchy manners and unveil unfamiliar sounds in both sequenced and arbitrary ways and means. "In Acrylic" is journey-oriented music for getting yourself lost in the woods and achieves danceability by integrating elements from breakbeat and bass music.

On the B-side, "Leech", Rune Søltoft's musicality is prominent, where the establishment of dissonance organically fits the musical canvas, backed by tonally odd percussive elements in various changing paces. As with "In Acrylic", the flipside "Leech" is sonically natural and foley-based, yet at the same time synthetic and metallic. "Leech" transports the listener to underwater ecosystems of both life and decay, with distinct hints of anthropogenic destruction.

Both tracks demand attentiveness and are best experienced when listened to in full. Outer Village Audio support tunes that don't directly fit into the DJ-friendly category in electronic music and are proud to accompany this release with Rune Søltoft's artwork.
